Well, it's been a minute, and there's a lot to cover from the past few months. Let's get started. March Listen, most of March was fine. We got to Spring Break and over Spring Break I worked at a day camp at the zoo. It was incredibly cold the first couple of days, but we made it work. You know I love learning about an animal friend, and I collected many new fun facts. See below for pictures. I also tried to get a million other things done during break and it exhausted me. It was then I decided to pause my Hinge and Bumble adventures. Replying to messages and trying to find time to go out felt like a chore, and I just don't have time for that. The week we went back to school was perhaps one of the worst weeks I've ever had as an educator. The students were simply not behaved and we had concerns about professional development (PD). I had an incident in which I don't think students were held accountable for their actions from a parent/guardian perspective (the fir...
So, I'm pretty sure February didn't start until February 6th, which was the first day we went back to school after the winter weather. February is also (technically) a short month. Despite that, like January 2026, February lasted approximately 84 days. I did not get out much, and my life was a cycle of school-tutor-exercise-repeat. And that's fine. I want to get out more in March and with Spring Break, I should have time to do so. Three thoughts from February though. 1. During my winter weather induced boredom, I made a Hinge profile. And then a Bumble profile. I have thoughts. Many, many thoughts. I will keep said thoughts private until I decide I am done with the apps. 2. Public education is important. Not caring about public education and brushing it off, to me, shows you do not care about the community. And the unpaid labor of public school teachers keeps society going in many ways. 3. The Olympics were great. I really only feel patriotic during the Olympics and, even m...
Y'all, I'm going to be honest, the Salt Late City to Seoul flight nearly got me. My butt hurt so bad and I got no sleep. But I made it, I got a brutal massage at the Seoul airport (1 out of 10.5 massages for the whole trip), and I touched down in Singapore right on schedule. That extra day in Singapore was crucial. I wanted to explore the airport, and I did, but I also took a four hour nap and ordered room service for dinner. The next day (May 24, four days after the last day of school), I flew to Malaysia and I experienced a two and a half week miracle. My back didn't hurt. My shoulder didn't hurt. I felt rested even on early days. Headaches were rare, and I think driven by caffeine withdrawal. Was I hot? Absolutely. Was I sweaty? 100%. But it's Southeast Asia, you just have to embrace the sweat and take 2 showers a day. No biggie. Where did this miraculous pain-free existence come from? Every other day massages? Those helped, as did the all inclusive spa and no w...
