April 2025 Dump featuring Camping and Testing

Oh my goodness. April has been the longest and craziest month. Most of that is due to TN Ready testing, which for us lasted from April 14 to April 29. It changes the schedule, so everything gets a little out of whack, and it is boring. Few of the kids need or take the full time offered and so they're just sitting there. And I get bored watching them. There's only so many times that I can walk around the room.

Other than that, April has been fine. It basically flooded the first weekend on the month, then the weather sorted itself out. I did try "camping" when the weather was nice. And by camping, I mean I rented a tent and spent the night in my parents' backyard. Honestly, I didn't mind it. The tent was surprisingly easy to set up, and I liked being in a little cocoon where I could just chill and read. In the future, I will need a thicker mattress pad. I don't think I would ever do true backpacking, but car camping at a campsite seems nice and doable.

Other than that, it's just been school, reading, working out, and hanging out with the cats.

We have 15 days of school left! May we all get through unscathed

March 2025 Dump featuring Disney World

Thankfully, March went by a lot faster than either January or February. And let me tell you, I was on fire the first two weeks. I was very much over school and the gosh darn children, but I got everything done and squared away.

And then I went to Disney World, which was delightful. With the VIP tour and Lightning Lanes, we easily hit every ride we wanted to hit. That means we had time to meander. We meandered through the World Showcase in Epcot and the different trails in Animal Kingdom. Amazing, magical, fantastic.

Also enjoyable was seeing Disney through the eyes of kids and first time visitors. Disney is quite the experience, and I'm glad we can all still discover the magic.

Coming back from Disney was hard, and I have definitely not been as on top of things as I should be. I'm working on that for April.

But first, I must remember Jinx. She passed over the rainbow bridge the morning of April 1st, which is not a great start to the month. However, I will cuddle all the remaining kitties in her honor.
